Shotton Grange Wedding Photography – Gemma + Sam
Gemma + Sam held their wedding at Shotton Grange just north of Newcastle upon Tyne.
It was our first time at Shotton Grange and we were well impressed. The rooms were a lovely place to get ready and the Coach House was a bright and airy space that was a joy to shoot in. The house and grounds are beautiful and the staff were all on top form. The weather even behaved itself, almost certainly because of the sausage burying ceremony performed the night before (we’re certain this tradition was started by savvy foxes, somehow).
They had quite a touching ceremony that mostly rhymed and ended in an outbreak of bongos. Group shots were partly arranged by mime and dinner was cooked outside after some great speeches. The party was ready to burst out from straight after the ceremony but it exploded halfway through the first dance when Gemma + Sam’s guests joined them, along with Tobi, a roaming bongo player. It was a messy and joyful dance floor which is honestly the best sort.
What a fantastic wedding at Shotton Grange. Thanks again for having us along Gemma + Sam.
