Scottish Highlands Wedding Photography – Emma + Jamie

Emma + Jamie had their wedding in the Scottish Highlands. The ceremony was held in the hills overlooking the Cairngorm mountains before we all headed back to Carrbridge for the reception.

We were already having a lovely time before we even got to the wedding day. The drive up through Scotland was exceptionally scenic and we passed the time by pointing out every single Highland Cow, Red Deer, and huge mountain we saw with increasing excitement. After a sleep in one of the most welcoming B&Bs we’ve ever stayed in, we were set for the big day.

The weather in the Scottish Highlands can never be described as boring. During the ceremony we were treated to drizzle, blazing sun, a bit cloudy, and torrential rain. No problem for these two lovers of the outdoors and there’s a certain romance in declaring your vows to each other before your friends and family, and all the majesty of nature. It really was a beautiful experience. The sun was even kind enough to come out so the whisky wasn’t watered down in the Quaich.

It was back to Emma’s parents’ house for the reception. One of the highlights of a Scottish wedding for us is always the ceilidh. A party as a full-contact sport that brings everyone together is fantastic fun and the obligatory singalong with Runrig is a perfect way to end the day. We can’t wait to get back up to The Highlands.
