Humanist Wedding Photography – Beth + Laura

Beth and Laura had a Humanist wedding ceremony at Shrubs Farm in the sunny Essex countryside.

The sun shone bright and hot on the meadow as everyone kicked off their shoes and strolled through the long grass towards the hay bales. A warm breeze was blowing as Beth and Laura met underneath the flower arch to say their vows.  Their friend conducted a Humanist ceremony whilst birds were singing and crickets chirruped. An exchange of rings and kisses and then they danced down the aisle.

After drinks in the garden, we all headed into the thatched barn for a gorgeous dinner punctuated with some great speeches. Then we played with our cameras in the sunset whilst the band set up for some epic dance floor action.

It was perfect. As the ladies themselves said “It was the best day of their lives” (so far) “the love and happiness in the air with everyone was incredible.” And I think that’s the key to it. The beautiful weather and setting are a great bonus but it’s the people that really make a day special. Everyone was wearing a smile and the love and affection for the couple was palpable. This feeling is the reason we love Humanist weddings. The morning of the wedding is usually the first time we meet our couples but with such positive atmospheres we often end up crying at the ceremony and laughing along in the speeches as if they are old friends. It’s always about the people, that’s what makes weddings magical.

This message can in no way convey the thanks we owe you. The tireless work you guys put in and the creativity and thought behind everything was just immense. I have had so many comments from people on how hard you worked and that you were still on the dance floor just having fun! I know everyone says it’s the best day of their lives but the love and happiness in the air with everyone was incredible and you guys blended in, cracked on and just did the most phenomenal job!!!  So from the bottom of our hearts and our bare feet, THANK YOU!!!
