Hazlewood Castle Wedding Photography – Emily + Ben

Emily and Ben held their wedding at the historic Hazlewood Castle in the countryside between Leeds and York.

Hazlewood Castle has been around for a while. It first appeared as a house in The Domesday Book in 1086 and over the years it grew and became a castle, a mansion, and eventually a rather nice hotel, restaurant, spa, and wedding venue.

Emily and Ben went for a Harry Potter theme (perhaps it was a touch more of an Emily thing) and the rooms were decorated in the house colours with magic/boozy potions on the tables for every guest. Even little Sorting Hat cupcakes told you which House you belonged to by the colour of the sponge. The ceremony was helped along by Luna the canine ringbearer before we took some quick photos in the castle grounds. Then we all headed back inside for a warm-up and dinner. Then everyone enjoyed some very touching speeches which highlighted that this was a coming together of families. It was heartwarming to see.

Hopefully, we can return to Hazlewood Castle for another wedding soon.
