York Wedding Photography, The Hospitium – Laura + Jamie

Laura + Jamie had their York wedding at The Hospitium in the Museum Gardens.

The Hospitium has to be the top choice if you’re planning a wedding in York. They’ve recently won the award for the best wedding venue in Yorkshire at The English Wedding Awards and it’s easy to see why. The super organised team have everything running like a well-oiled machine but there’s still heart in it, they genuinely care about you having a great day.

Then there is the building and grounds itself. A 14th-century guest house for visitors to the now ruined St Mary’s Abbey, it has tons of charm and the gardens are just beautiful.

Jamie is a friend of Emma’s from way back in school. We’d been keeping track of his adventures via social media over recent years as he’s only gone and made a bloody movie. It took us a little while to get used to sitting opposite a man you only recognise as a psychopathic killer for dinner, turns out he and his wife were actually lovely, acting and all that!

Later in the evening one of the guests grabbed hold of Emma and said: “Have you seen the way Jamie’s looking at Laura?”… we definitely had. In fact, they’d both been looking at each other with this mix of adoration and respect all day. Above all the dancing pumpkins, the great speeches, the incredible setting and the horror movie theme; those little looks of love will be what stick with us.
