Holmes Mill Wedding Photography – Catherine + Alastair

Catherine + Alastair had their wedding at Holmes Mill in Clitheroe.

Another new venue for us and we have to say, a very cool one. We hopped over the border into Lancashire to find the former mill turned center for all things fun. There’s a hotel, cinema, bowling alley, brewery, and probably more. There’s also a great big room which is rather good for getting married in.

Catherine + Alastair decided to do a “First Look” before all their guests arrived and then walked down the aisle together. Gender roles and patriarchal traditions were eschewed as the couple came together in partnership as equals. The feelings of welcoming inclusivity made for a most relaxing and enjoyable wedding. We could stand for a lot more of it in the world.

After the ceremony everyone enjoyed some drinks and snacks before heading upstairs for an eclectic set of speeches and dinner. As the excellent staff got the room turned around, we all partook in a spot of bowling and card games. In the evening we were treated to two fantastic bands. The String Beans filled the dance floor and after their set, just when everyone was catching their breath, Emma + Rich favourites Back Chat Brass emerged to keep the party going till the end.

If these are the types of weddings they have at Holmes Mill we can’t wait to go back!
