A festival themed wedding that ends in a rave? Hell yeah, we want to shoot that!
Kelsey and James were married at St Mary’s church in Scarborough before driving out to The Barn to party with Minnehaha Events.
Public Service Announcement – You’ll notice there aren’t any pictures of the ceremony, that’s because some vicars aren’t cool and groovy and don’t allow photography/videography. Even with silent cameras and super respectful photographers. If you want to get married in a church and want pictures to remember your big day, check what their policy on photography is FIRST. Before you pay anything and get it in writing, get them to sign a contract even. Sometimes they make us stand at the back and only take a handful of shots. We’ve heard stories of them changing their minds on the day and photographers having to tell the couple they can’t work moments before the ceremony. It’s stress you don’t need.
Anyhoo, Minnehaha Events at The Barn don’t suck. In fact, they’re ace and we always enjoy shooting there. Kelsey and James had planned a Glastonbury Festival themed wedding and this is a perfect venue for that sort of thing. Oh and Kelsey had the most amazing flower crown that rocked our world to be honest with you.
After the meal Kelsey had a little surprise for James, she revealed during the speeches, she’d only gone and booked legendary acid house DJ Mark Archer to play a set in the evening. James’ favourite of all time ever. A wedding that features a full-blown rave! Awesome! We had so much fun shooting this. Check out their video and pictures below.
