Esk Valley Wedding Photography – Sarah + James
Sarah + James had their wedding with the excellent Esk Valley Weddings at Danby Castle.
We joined the couple as they were getting ready in Forest Lodge Cottages in the North Yorkshire Moors. It’s a stunning part of the country but you’ll have to take our word for it. The rain and mist rolled in and rather being disappointed, Sarah proclaimed that it was exactly the sort of weather you’d want on the moors. Game on!
Just down the road stands the ruins of Danby Castle where Esk Valley Weddings have converted the surrounding buildings into a wedding venue that’s choc-full of charm and history. Sarah + James made their way through the winding country roads and picturesque villages in a little sports car and a VW camper respectively. They gathered with friends and family in the 14th-century court room for the ceremony. Sarah’s brother played the guitar as she walked down the aisle and James’s niece and nephew acted as security for the wedding rings.
After a few heartfelt speeches and some very tasty food, we danced the night away with a rocking band. It wasn’t what we’d call a small wedding but somehow it still felt so intimate. Everyone was there to support the couple and there were so many hugs, grins and happy tears that it was just a delight to be a part of.
Congratulations Sarah + James. Here are a few of our favourite shots of the day…
