I mean, if you’re getting married at Raven Hall, it would be weird not to have a raven at your wedding. Right?
Gemma and Dan’s winter wedding had loads of stuff to keep us busy. The bridesmaids were dressed as Spring, Summer and Autumn, and Gemma was rocking the Snow Queen look, Dan had that Peaky Blinders vibe going on, the wedding rings were delivered to the best man by a Barn Owl during the ceremony, a raven was flying around the Great Hall during a portrait shoot, a Hindu blessing, a first dance that was a homage to Pulp Fiction’s “Twist” dance but with extra bubble guns, the groom shredding on guitar, a serenade from a bridesmaid, a rocking live band and an epic chocolate fountain.
Did I miss anything? Probably. Oh yeah, and two people who just loved the bones of each other getting married. Ace!
Raven Hall can be a pretty “refreshing” experience when you venture out on the battlements but we braved the goosebumps for some shots with the gorgeous owls who came along with their crew from Wingbearers. Can’t recommend these guys enough. They’re total professionals and the humans seem to know what they’re doing too. Top-tip for any other photographers reading this; those birds come at you fast! Definitely worth going along to the practice with the best man before the ceremony so you’re sure you’ve got your settings dialled in for the actual event.
Shoutout to the awesome vendors:
