We recently spent a hazy Sunday afternoon at the Yorkshire Arboretum photographing Amelie’s Humanist naming ceremony.
We were introduced to Amelie’s mum Ellen by April from Kook Events. Turns out Ellen also organises events too with her company LND Events. Two awesome Yorkshire planners in one sentence there if you’re on the lookout for some help with a wedding, party or other event.
Anyway, we set up shop in a clearing at the Yorkshire Arboretum and snapped away while all of Amelie’s friends and family celebrated her naming day. Everyone had brought picnics and blankets and it was super relaxed and just perfect. Toasts were made with mini bottles of prosecco (fruit shoots for the kids) and everyone got to spend some time with Amelie.
After the ceremony we made our way back to the visitors centre where Buttercrumble were waiting to draw everyone! These ladies are probably my new favourite thing ever. You can book them for weddings and events and they are blooming lovely. You can see our portrait here.
You could feel autumn drawing in as the light started to fade. We’re thinking we need to go back with Merlin (our corgi) one day as his favourite things to do is to run through piles of leaves. The colours of the trees should be marvelous too. The little cafe looked ace and the whole place just had a lovely tranquil air about it. Would be a great place to have a wedding if you like nature and peace and quiet!
