Depends what you need us for! 🙂 Fill in our contact form and we’ll get back to you ASAP.
‘Where are you based?’
We live in Scarborough, on the North Yorkshire coast aka Britain’s first seaside resort! We travel all over the UK to shoot.
‘How soon do we need to book?’
As soon as you can, peak summer dates (May – September) can get booked up to two years in advance. We will always hold a date for 7 days if you need to confirm with your venue before paying our booking fee.
‘Do we need to pay a booking fee?’
Yes please. To secure us for your big day we ask for a £500 booking fee to confirm your date, with the balance due one month before your wedding.
‘What if we don’t like having our photo taken?’
Yep, we feel you, we’re the same! We don’t make you do anything cheesy, nothing that we wouldn’t want to do. We get you close and let those wedding day vibes take over to make you forget we’re even there and capture the magic. If you want to do a test run we can always do a couple shoot for a few extra pennies and show you there’s nothing to worry about.
‘Do both of you shoot our wedding?’
Yep. Two perspectives, two heights, two places to be, we capture as much of your big day as possible between us!
‘Do you travel outside of Yorkshire?’
Of course, travel within the mainland UK is included in our price.
‘How many weddings have you shot?’
69 dude! (as of June 2018) Emma started shooting weddings back in 2014 and Rich joined her in 2016.
‘Do you shoot group shots?’
Yep, we realise they can cut into your day and take up valuable party time. We recommend no more than 8 groups to ensure all the guests are happy and no one is kept away from the bar or canapes too long! We like to have a full list (with names) before the day so we can get them done as quickly as possible to ensure you’re not kept waiting around when you could be hugging your friends and drinking prosecco!
‘How long do you stay?’
We don’t offer packages by the hour as we like to stay all day and into the evening. This is usually from bridal prep to well into the party. That way you get to know us and you relax, which makes for better pictures.
However, we know every wedding is different and so are your needs. Elopements to long days, it’s all love. If you do want shorter coverage (under 5 hours) contact us for a bespoke quote.
‘How many photographs do we get?’
For a normal full day wedding, at least 500 images. As there are two of us shooting we cover more angles and make sure you only get the good stuff with no blinks or duplicates! All killer, no filler!
‘Do you edit our photographs?’
Yes. Emma is the editing one and spends a lot of time ensuring all your images are edited in our ‘Emma + Rich’ signature style.
‘When will we get our photographs?’
We do you a sneak peek on our Facebook page/blog within a week, your highlights video within two weeks and your finished gallery within 6-8 weeks.
‘How do we get our photographs?’
We send you a link to an online gallery which you can share with friends and family. You can download everything that’s here and they are YOURS to print and put on social media, marshmallows etc…
‘You can fix that in photoshop, yeah?’
Generally no, as we shoot in a documentary style we don’t like changing reality, you are your own person and that’s what makes you so special.
‘Do you shoot same sex weddings?’
Yep. Love is love. We’re LGBTQ friendly, all colours, creeds, races and backgrounds are welcome.
‘What kit do you use?’
Canon 5d iii / Canon 6d / Canon 6d / Canon 60d / Canon 5dii / Fuji x-pro2 / Fuji x-pro 2 / Sigma 35mm 1.4 / Sigma 24mm 1.4 / Canon 100mm 2.8L / Canon 85mm 1.8 / Canon 50mm 1.8 / Fujinon xf35mm f2rwr / Fujinon xf18mm f2r / Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 / Canon + Sigma + Nissin Flashes / All sorts of video lights / Loads of random bits of glass / Whatever we can get our mitts on that helps us take a cool picture.
‘Are you insured?’
Yep, of course. Us and our kit and public liability – the works.
‘Who owns the copyright?’
We do. We provide you with a print release so you can print your photographs, share them online and make albums. This doesn’t cover other use such as other wedding suppliers so please get in touch if your florist/venue wants copies of your images for commercial use.
‘Do you need feeding on the day?’
Ideally yes. If we’re staying all day and into the night a hot meal would be really appreciated. We don’t shoot too much while people are eating and it gives us a chance to have a break and recharge our batteries ready for the evening! Sometimes venues don’t allow us to eat our own food on the premises and having to sit in the car with a pack-up means we might miss something cool.
‘Did you both study photography?’
Nope. Neither of us have a formal photography education and are both self taught. Emma spent two years learning as much as possible before passing on her wisdom to Rich. We are constantly learning and improving our skills and will continue to do so forever!
‘What happens if we cancel our wedding?’
Your booking fee is usually non-refundable (depending on if we re-book the date) and depending on how close your date is your balance may also be due. We recommend getting good wedding insurance just to make sure everything is covered.
‘What if you’re ill on the day?’
One of us would have to be seriously ill or some other very serious circumstances happen to not be able to shoot your wedding. We take our job very seriously and you guys are our most important thing in the world. We have a great network of photographers available to us should we need to arrange cover and if we are unable to arrange this we will, of course, offer a full refund.
‘Do you just shoot weddings?’
Nope, we also love shooting everything from couples to families, parties and commercial work. As we shoot in a documentary style we offer on location or in home shoots and capture you as you know best.
‘This all sounds awesome, how do we book?’
FANTASTIC, we would love to know more about you both and the plans and schemes for your big day. Have a good look through our website and fill out this form and we will be in touch. We would love to speak to you/skype you before you book to make sure you’re both happy with how we work. After we’ve done this we will send you over a booking form and contract. Once we receive these back with the booking fee – you’re all booked in and we’ll be shooting your wedding!
